Tile picture, placed in the formely butcher's shop of the Van Gelderen family.

The butcher's shop ('vleeschhouwerij')  of the Van Gelderen family was founded by Joseph P. van Gelderen in 1838; his son Mozes  took over the shop 1879. After his retirement in 1926 his son Joseph took over the butcher's shop. The shop of Mozes van Gelderen was kosher. The butcher's shop of Joseph wasn't.

Philip van Gelderen, son of Mozes, who fled in 1940 with his family to America, asked the placement of the tile picture. It was placed by the company D.L. Baauw & Co from Vlaardingen in 1949. Momentary there is a second version of the tile picture.

Butcher's Warnaar, who settled in 1943 in the building because his shop was destroyed on March 18 1943, bought it after the war from Philip van Gelderen.
